Oooh.

That is awesome, Holly. I LOVE the extra insight into Cassel's world. I am almost done with the book, and I am SO excited about it.

I hope you don't mind, but I grabbed your White Cat icon so I could advertise on my journals and things like that. Cassel is SO awesome. :)

Re: Oooh.

Oh right. I knew there was something else I wanted to ask you! I THINK I have it right, but Cassel is "Castle" in pronunciation, right? Just want to make sure that when I talk this guy up, I pronounce it properly!

Hey, Holly. I thought you might want to see my official Review of White Cat! I post book reviews in this journal on a regular basis, so I consider it my professional Book review blog. :) Enjoy!

Re: Oooh.

Not a problem!! Haha. If you looked through my blog (like you have time, right? LOL) You'd find reviews for Tithe, Irsonside, and Valiant as well. :) Alas, no Spiderwick Reviews. Yet. But I am going to definitely be reading those in their entirety this year. My "reading resolution" for 2010. :)

I long to see that ad in a subway or on a bus. :)

Belated congrats on the release! As you know, it's one of my faves for this year! So great! Even if you did make me cry...

Thanks for the kind words. Hey, are you going to be at any of the conventions this year?

I don't think so. I'm being a hermit. :) Next year, though.

Dammit.

After reading that, I have to go out and buy it right away. Fantasy + organized crime is a definite weak spot for me, especially since I found The Lies of Locke Lamora...

I loooove Lies of Locke Lamora so much. I can't wait for Republic of Thieves.

Fingers crossed for you liking White Cat.

I really love that poster. I have the little postcard of it taped to my bedroom wall now.

By the way, Holly, seeing you and Cassandra Clare was absolutely amazing. It was by far the best book signing I've ever been to (and I've been to plenty). You were really nice and your whole presentation was humorous, informative, and not too short. And I was most impressed by the fact that you actually talked with each of us while you signed our books and never rushed, even though you must have been getting tired. Thank you so much!

Hello Holly! I've never commented on your journal before but I just wanted to let you know I'm a big fan. I finished "White Cat" last night and I couldn't put it down. It's not only one of the best YA books I've read in awhile, but one of the best fantasy novels. I loved the world and characters you've created and I can't wait to see what other trouble Cassel gets into (or finds him, is probably more the case).

I read White Cat and loved it. I tried to savor it, reading in little bits, but the story was just too good and I had to read it all at once. I'm bummed it's over, and eagerly awaiting your next novel. And just an interesting aside. I was watching The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and at one point Heath Ledger is holding a magazine and turns the pages to show what he's looking at, and there is the photo of the girl with the gloves making circles around her eyes! Added to the surreal aspect of the scene. Made me start looking for White Cat in the background, tucked away on a shelf. *s*

I am so glad you liked it!

Oh, wow. I got that imaged from Corbis, so it certainly makes sense it would be in other places, but that must have been very strange.

Re: please read

Books are going very well! Thank you for asking. Tony and I don't currently have any plans to do any more Spiderwick books. We're hard at work on our own individual series.

White Cat says it's for 14+. Hope that helps.

It's wrong. It's evil. It's Satanic.

You know, that picture showing the girl 'poising' her hands, it has a deep, evil meaning. That kind of (how do I say this) 'hand gestures' symbolizes the number 6, the number of Satan (gulp), or the Eye of Horus (that's another name of Satan), and all that evil stuff goes down to the occult. Other fans out there, if you don't believe me,go check it out yourselves. Of course, they'll make it look very attractive, innocent, and tempting as gold. Oh, Holly, I love you (I am one of your fans, after all),but I'm really, truly hoping that you aren't involved in some kind of occult. If you are...Oh, dear.

Re: It's wrong. It's evil. It's Satanic.

Oh, get over yourself and your silly fantasies!

First off, Horus is a god of ancient Egypt. He was know as the sky god and also the god of war and hunting. The Eye of Horus was a symbol of protection and power (often displayed around those of royal lineage i.e. The Pharaoh), not of evil as you so ignorantly suggest. He was around WAY before Christianity was founded, and has absolutely nothing to do with the Christian concept of Satan. If you look at any mythology book regarding Egyptian myths and lore then you wouldn't have made such a silly assumption!

Pray tell, were did you get the information regarding this particular gesture being related to Satanism or the Occult?

If you actually love someone you should think before making ludicrous accusations that have no basis in fact or reality, especially in a public forum where all can see. After all, the internet is forever.
